CHRISTOPHER PRETSCH

Christopher F. Pretsch is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and author of forthcoming book, The Wealth Management Trap: How to Avoid Fee Gouging, Bright Shiny Objects, And…Just Plain Lousy Investment Advice. Pulling from years of industry experience, his book aims to demystify the world of investing and help readers make wise decisions for a strong financial future.

Chris was president of the CFA Society of Pittsburgh from 2008-10, during which time he started a financial literacy committee. This committee’s mission was to educate the general public on their finances, and they frequently visited colleges and high schools to give presentations on investing and money management—topics that weren’t often taught in school systems. That committee continues operating today.

Chris currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and two children.

For Chris, the emphasis is on “advice.” Rather than selling various products that likely won’t do much for the financial situation of the average person, Chris aims to educate you on investing and empower you to take control of your financial future. His areas of expertise include protecting people from fee-hungry brokers, insurance agents, and bank trust departments.
